International transfer require doing passport check, we checked our laguge in Korea and bought liquid in Korea duty free, it got bagged and sealed for transfer but the customs in China threw it away.
they open all the bags and check all the people one by one so the waiting lines are extremely long, they shout in Chinese and they don't know a word in English, my boyfriend had a big surgery few years ago the security guy even checked his scars.
if you have to transfer through China take in mind you will need to go out of the terminal, wait until your counter open and do the normal checking all over again even if you don't have your suitcase.
I recommend not buying anything in the origin conutry duty free when on transfer, and if possible avoid connection flights from Beijing airport, especially if u take off from terminal 2 and not from the big terminal 3.
