We visited the Global Vipassana Pagoda Near Essel World to commemorate the Gratitude Day where the President of India, Governor and Chief Minister of Maharashtra were present as Guests of honour. It is the biggest pagoda in India where approximately 8000 monks can meditate simultaneously at one time. The hair relic of Gautam Buddha is preserved in the center of the roof of the dome. Thus it is a Live Pagoda and is held in high esteem. It has a curio shop and a huge library. One can either drive down via Mira Road or take a ferry from Marve jetty to cross the creek and reach this place. One can spend a whole day in the lap of nature with their families.
