It's the middle of the covid-19 pandemic and the governor just rolled the state's reopening back because people weren't taking it seriously. Apparently, that includes Mission Bay Volkswagen. Before my service appointment, I was promised three waiting areas with social distance. It's also currently a state AND local mandate to wear a mask if you're an essential employee or around non-household members. Two older members of the parts team are not wearing masks in the customer lounge as I type this. One, by the name of Doug, is coughing without a mask on and speaking very loudly. It makes me sad to see a workplace allow their employees to put one another-- and their customers-- at risk, especially when that is against state and local law. I would like to personally thankJack in service who put one on when I asked. Clearly there is a leadership problem at this dealership as the mask requirement isn't being consistently followed by employees-- but every customer here has a mask on, including me. As I type this, I'm watching the aforementioned employee, Doug, help an elderly man who is wearing a mask-- but Doug isn't. I feel deceived because I was promised a socially distanced waiting area and some employees have exempted themselves.
