This morning our alarm triggered at 3:20am. It obviously woke my wife and I from a deep slumber in a panic. I ran through the house to see what had happened and there was no sign of a break-in or reason for the alarm to go off. I called Ackerman to get their help and was sure it would be moments before I was speaking to someone about our problem.
Unfortunately I was completely wrong. No one ever answered the phone- at a SECURITY COMPANY. The company I was relying on to protect my home never answered the phone. I know now they blame a widespread Verizon outage. But- even after repeated phone calls today and promised automatic call backs - I still haven't been able to speak with a person about the incident- and further they are completely unsympathetic about the panic and lack of customer service we received in what was a very unsettling situation.
I will be canceling my service and taking my business elsewhere. When it comes to the security of my home and my family- I expect my security company to answer the phone after the first ring.
