When buying stuff straight up it's ok... But... I bought a camera battery (70$). When I took it out of the packaging, realized it was completely drained, meaning it was stored for an extremely long time or faulty when it came to the store. The battery wouldn't charge at all (official canon battery, appropriate official canon charger). Tried to exchange - "no deal, call canon". Called Canon - "no deal, call best buy". I guess I get that people could just replace their old dead batteries for free this way, but there has to be some customer protection built into the system so you don't just lose 70$ for nothing. As a tourist coming to NY from East Europe, just losing this amount of money hurts a lot. Bad luck for me I guess...
