I can't speak to how the pub functions in the evening, but I do frequent this place for lunch. My wife and I try to take lunch together when we can during the week; the service is fast and friendly, and the food is consistently tasty. Their lunch menu is limited, but sufficient for most lunch needs. The pub itself is conducive to conversation, which makes for an excellent lunch atmosphere. Great selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-. Highly recommended for weekday lunch!
