I sold my house before the contract time is finish...

I sold my house before the contract time is finished. I informed ADT that as of July 03 2019 the house would not be under my name. I asked the new owners to call ADT and take over the contract.
ADT charged me every month and when I called them they said that they were not seeing any notes on my account regarding transferring the account to the new owners and surprisingly they informed me that the account is not transferable and I have only one option which is cancelling my account and pay for the early cancellation penalty.
