Im VERY disappointed in my recent visit to this location. This is the only Joes Crab Shack within two hours of my home. My husband and I had planned for WEEKS to ring in the new year in Galveston and had our whole day planned, at the top of the list was eating at Joes because it s one of our favorite places and we don t often get to go because of the drive from home. Let me start off by saying that the food was great which is the only reason this review is deserving of a one star but everything else was horrible. We ordered a few appetizers and one of the appetizers my husband actually wanted delivered with his main dish because he wanted to eat them together, this was stated to the server and instead they were brought out almost a full fifteen minutes before his main dish and were cold by the time he ate them. Also with the main dish he ordered the chicken Alfredo and wanted to add shrimp, on the menu it says add shrimp for $1 We asked the server if we add the shrimp to the chicken it will only be $1 more? And he said yes. At the end of our meal we were charged an extra $7 for the shrimp when we asked our server about it he said he would be right back and then a manager came out. The manager was very rude and insinuated that we were trying to get one over on them? If we had known it was going to be an extra $7 for the shrimp we would not have gotten it. And the fact that the manager offered nothing for this mistake that was on THEIR part was horrible customer service in my opinion, since we were told something else by the server. I m not trying to place blame on the server because it was obvious from the beginning he was new and needed to have more training, but again that is a management issue not and issue with the server himself. I get $7 isn t a lot of money especially at a place like that but when you re spending $70 already and then also want to leave at least a %20 tip that adds up quick. I m just very disappointed in the way all of this was handled. I will not be going back to this location and I would warn you all to stay away if you don t want to be lied to and then given the bait and switch.
