Please note, this a pre-COVID review from February 2020. We went for lunch. This is certainly one of my favorite meals of all time. We were welcomed into the restaurant and even had the pleasure of meeting the chef himself. We were seated by one of the windows overlooking the river. Service was relaxed, but perfect. As a novice to fine dining, I felt incredibly welcomed and even at home.

We ordered the "Keep It Simple" menu. The meal started off with a series of amuse-bouches. This was followed by an excellent lobster with carrot-lobster jus accented with toasted buckwheat. It was fabulous. Next was John Dory with shellfish. The shellfish was added table-side. Also excellent. The famous artichoke and truffle soup was next. I can't believe there's no stock or cream in this soup as it tastes incredibly decadent.

Next was a confit-glazed Bresse chicken with the best cabbage I've ever tasted. This may be the single best dish I have ever had in my life. It's haunted my dreams. I have made reservations to travel back to Paris to eat this in my dreams no less than three times in the last year. Sadly, my alarm goes off before I actually get to eat it and I wake up disappointed. I can't explain why chicken + cabbage has resonated with me so much. I think it's something about the sheer perfection of the dish. The balance of flavors, textures... I will say that when they brought out seconds in a tiny copper pot, I felt as if I had won the lottery.

After this, was a 36 month aged Comte with walnut crisp. So many layers of flavor in a cheese! Desserts followed with a mille-feuille with vanilla mousse. And when you think you're full and can't eat any more, an entire dessert trolley comes out. Don't even try to say you're full.

Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? For sure.
