Just returned after 2 weeks spent at SUNRISE DIAMO...

Just returned after 2 weeks spent at SUNRISE DIAMOND BEACH RESORT in Sharm El-Sheikh - Egypt.

The resort is certainly not 5 star and I wonder what the criterion by which they are assigned. Also the evaluation of the Settemari customers that I found in the catalog is not reliable (they are not one with great pretensions but I require cleaning at the base of everything).

We found a lack of hygiene in the rooms, restaurants and common areas: cleaning the inadequate room, non-existent room in the bathroom in 15 days, with dust and hair everywhere on the floor - let's not talk about what was under the bed!

To get the toilet roll, you ALWAYS need to ASK and extend the tip to the Egyptian on duty, for the "kindness" he was giving us. Other than kindness, it seems to me the minimum !!

In both restaurants, the "Italian" one and the international one, dirty glasses, sumptuously washed crockery, tables cleaned to better between one customer and another.

I think it is necessary AS MINIMUM to reach the basic standards of Western countries in terms of hygiene, otherwise we are not right !!

As for shows and other entertainment events, little or nothing. The staff of the Italian staff were all very nice, kind and helpful but the proposed activities were monothematic and not very involving.

Furthermore, during our stay, there were several jobs in progress throughout the resort, namely:

- in the water park area it was not nice to stop, since the view was on a building site!

- On the beach, there were continually workers intent on rebuilding a long series of walls

- The room above ours, was repainted by spray (including furniture) on a cloudy and windy day: we, who were there with the children because of the bad weather, ended up in a gas chamber. Without the grievances of the case, we have been asked to change room: redo luggage halfway through the holidays ?? No, really. To apologize for the inconvenience, in the evening they made us have "a fruit basket", with strawberries and bananas that were taken and thrown away.

It's okay for there to be maintenance work to do, but it would be good to inform the customer first so one adjusts accordingly. There were friends with us with the yard view room, at the mercy of continuous noise due to the work .. many times one says nothing because he doesn't want to discuss, but damn it: we're on vacation !!

To conclude, I believe that I will no longer book with Settemari, since our expectations have been disappointed in several respects and that the holiday was not so cheap.

Sorry, but I do not recommend anyone to go there or come back in the future (I left negative review even in the facility itself).
