Overall a modern, large airport, albeit with a messy system of city-access buses and inter-terminal shuttles. Lots of shops, bars yet shockingly few English-speaking staff in them. Like Madrid, Barajas is clean but boring, not to say lacking any kind of soul whatsoever...can't quite put my finger on it.
