I've been going here for 15 years, ever since I was a kid. This seems like less of a place for the community to seek help, and more of a place to institutionalize, belittle, and take advantage of those caught with drug charges.
You can only receive treatment here if you're on state Medicaid or Medicare -- they don't take regular insurance and you can't even pay out of pocket. Yup, no psychiatrists available to the general public. For that you need to visit a different county.
Personally I've only been in trouble for missing school, and the state branded me a criminal on par with drug dealers and heroin addicts. Needless to say, that actually *introduced* me to drugs at a young age.
They seems to have an enourmous workload, because of Weber County's massive drug problems. And I don't think they make any impact on the community to fix it.
Regardless, they do have good people working here, probably because they pay well, but those people could be doing much better work at a place less focused on keeping the incarcerated incarcerated.
