I trave extensively as a commercial charted pilot and have awarded five stars to only one other resort. As compared with the other many resorts where I've stayed, Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana, Bavaro is in the best repair and is the cleanest. This all-inclusive is truly so, with guest privileges extending to other facilities owned by its parent company. Dining is excellent with ample servings. The resort staff are top-notch, helpful and seemingly genuinely pleased to be there. The WiFi is excellent throughout with routers everywhere including inside the rooms. Also, remember that a private electrical company provides power to Bavaro and Punta Cana, so outages are rare during normal business unlike the rest of the island. Grounds are very well maintained. One truly does not have to leave the premises at all. Nonetheless, my wife and I consistently travel the towns, pueblos and rural areas because we love the Dominican people and we wish to immerse ourselves in their culture. We'll definitely return. By the way, if the Italian or French or Japanese, etc., foods don't taste like they do at home, just go with it. You are not at home! Don't complain or just stay home wherever home is.
