Q Doan Review of Hotel Nikko Atlanta

The hotel is located within walking distance of restaurants. It's also right down the street from a shopping mall. The front desk employees were ok- not super talkative or friendly (none of that "how are you today/ how was your drive in/etc). Valet was also just ok... not really talkative or friendly. It would've been nice to see a genuine welcoming smile or two. We've definitely gotten better service elsewhere.
There's a conference of some kind going on, so the bar downstairs was busy. Lots of adults around. We've seen one teenager in the lobby since checking in yesterday afternoon.
We booked a higher floor room with a view. We got a nice, clean room in the corner with 2 doubles on the 19th floor. The beds face a wall of windows. At night, the room has huge spotlights pointed towards the building right outside the windows, but the blackout curtains worked well enough to keep out the beams. It's a city view, and we can see the neighboring building's pool from our room. The room itself has plenty of space for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids ages 6 and under). The bathroom is a great size. There's even a tube of Colgate toothpaste in there. The no frills shower head is tiny but the water pressure is ok.
Overall, the hotel is nice. We'd stay here again if the price were right.
P.s. We drove into Atlanta and our suv has a cargo box on top. It did not fit into the parking garage so our only choice was to Valet. I think it's around $35 a night, compared to $24 for self parking. Please keep that in mind if you're driving in with a similar setup. Valet ended up parking our car right in front of the hotel... so they actually just handed us the key and we got our own car. :)
