UPDATE: There has been a box added just as you go in the door in which paperwork (such as completed applications, recerts, etc) can be deposited. This is very helpful.
People are made to stand in a line & wait to be called to a window for someone to find out why they are there. That includes the elderly, pregnant, & physically handicapped/disabled, etc. The time spent standing in line is usually quite long. I spent 45 minutes in the line JUST TO DROP OFF A PAPER. This caused me to be in a lot of pain that, once triggered, lasted for 3 days & kept me from basic functioning until it subsided. I even told an obviously ill, handicapped man to sit & we (others in line) would keep his place in cue for him. Also offered the same to a woman about my age (60) that appeared to be in pain & was having difficulty standing. There are people who are not able to stand for extended periods or, for various other reasons, don't seek the assistance they're eligible to recieve, because of this UNFAIR inconvienance. I know I can't put myself in that position again. I think it is discriminatory. The Dept of Social Services should know better & CAN do better. A better system in lobby needs to be implemented.
