I've gone to visit my great aunt here with my family many times. I've spoken to a nurse over the phone about her well being when i couldn't visit. On April 27th, 2019, I received a call from my sister asking me to come here to check on our great aunt because the nurse she spoke to over the phone was being rude. So I arrive to Life Care Center of Federal Way and did what I usually do; sign in as a visitor. The receptionist told me to go speak with my great aunts nurse. I walk towards the back and a nurse met me asking if I was the person she spoke to over the phone, which was my sister but since I was in the line of fire, the nurse gave me an attitude. I asked if I could visit with my aunt like I've done many times before, she said "legally, she's not allowed to let me visit her. How are you related to her?" I told her shes my mother's aunt. She responds with "so you're not really a close relative." I said, "we took care of her before we had to bring her to Life Care, we don't know where her son is. Can I please see her?" She says that she doesn't understand why, all of a sudden, I want to see her. She states that no one has visited my aunt for "years" and she knows this because they have no record of any visitors, "she looked". I don't know how that is possible when my cousin visited 2 days before I came, and I always sign in on the visitors log, I also have RECENT pictures of us visiting our aunt that I am happy to share. This nurse was speaking to me in a condescending manner and I did not appreciate the way I was being treated when I came in smiling speaking to her respectfully. I left upset, not only because I couldn't visit my aunt but because when I asked her name she got in my face invading my personal space, gave me her name and said "if you have a problem with me protecting her medical records and guarding her well being then go ahead and complain to my boss." I told her I didnt ask for any records, I asked to see my aunt and that my problem was not with her doing her job. My problem was that she was being extrememly rude! I was so upset that I had to walk out! I've never met such a rude person in my life and I hope she learns how to speak to others in a more respectful manner. I truly appreciate the care that was given to my aunt while she was there, but that nurse really left a bad taste in my mouth.
