I took my son to the ER department at 9:30pm. A really nice receptionist did everything she could to help. He was triaged with a fever, tachycardia, difficulty breathing, pain, and weakness for 7 days. The triage nurse was told that he had been to urgent care and tested negative for the flu 4 days ago. She seemed irritated to have to listen to him or be there. I understand emergency care is busy and hectic. I understand triage basis care. I have no problem waiting if there is communication. 3 hours into our wait he began to vomit violently. I told the receptionist, who was very kind and asked if I could update the triage nurse. I respectfully waited to speak with her . She was rude and irritated again. She said she would have someone bring out something for nausea. An hour and a half later after everyone leaving the desk, no anti nausea medication, and my son exhausted and weak he asked to go home.
We went to Sandoval Regional Medical this morning. He was in a room on sepsis protocol ASAP. Blood work, breathing treatment, xrays and a CT instantly. We are still here and they are great.
If he was elderly or weaker the possibility of him being in a life or death situation at Kaseman and being ignored is very possible. Negligent, uncaring, compassion fatigued lack of care is what you will receive here.
