Jeff Nash Review of Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas

The Waldorf Astoria always provides joy and relaxation at each stay no matter which location and the Las Vegas hotel is no different. With the Aria just a few minutes walk around the corner and up the same driveway, it's a quiet and isolated feeling from the busyness of the strip around them. The hotel still has remnants from the Mandarin Oriental; however, the staff and feel during the transition are obvious. Some things are dated and need updates in time (some handrails had significant wear, bathrooms were dated and had worn material, and restaurant furniture and carpet was worn and dinged up), but the hotel feels like a Waldorf Astoria environment. Valet and Front Desk staff were top notch. For security reasons, the front desk is on the 23rd floor. To get to your room you'll have to go to the 23rd floor first, walk past the front desk, then use a second set of elevators to go down to your room's floor.
The bar on the 23rd floor is a great place to view sunsets over the strip and have a well prepared cocktail. The spa is basic comparatively to other Waldorf Astoria hotels; however, maybe worth a day pass for one day just to try it. The spa is included with spa services (massages, facials, other treatments, etc.)
The concierge was very hopefully researching and purchasing tickets to shows and had great insight in local entertainment/attractions only known by locals.
