Communication was poor at best once the loan was initiated. When trying to secure our business they were great. Once we got started it seemed as if we wanted any information at all we had to call them. Many mortgage companies use a pipeline email system to keep you informed as to where your loan is at in the process, Meridian does not. We couldn t even get an update email. Sometimes we had to call repeatedly to get a question answered. Never call on a Friday as they rarely answered the phone. The process to close this loan was longer than we expected, especially the appraisal and underwriting aspects. We did get snapped at a couple of times for not checking the portal, when we did there was nothing new. Meridian understands their system, not all of their borrowers do. I will say Carly in underwriting was awesome and did her best. A big thank you to her.
