The National Bank of Serbia is the central bank of the Republic of Serbia. It was founded on July 2, 1884 under the name of the Privileged National Bank of the Kingdom of Serbia.
The main functions of the National Bank of Serbia are:
to establish and implement monetary policy,
pursues the policy of the dinar exchange rate,
keep and manage foreign exchange reserves,
issues banknotes and coins and takes care of the functioning of the payment system and the financial system.
The main objective of the National Bank of Serbia is to achieve price stability. In addition, it aims to preserve financial stability.
