My teenage daughter left her passport behind at home this morning and woke me in the early hours in a panic for a flight that closed at 6.20am. We live in Streatham and she was in Luton Airport! I phoned Greyhound Cars immediately and asked what was the likelihood of them being able to effectively courier her passport to her in time for her to be able to check in. I was given a very accurate estimate of time by the gentleman who picked up the call as I explained the situation and he sent one of his "most experienced" drivers to take the job immediately. Within minutes the cab was at my door. The call to action, speed and communication of the driver, together with me, the cab office operator AND my daughter during the journey there was nothing but EXCEPTIONAL. The driver contacted my daughter when he was just arriving at the airport, and as he was stuck in traffic, staying on the phone with her describing where he was exactly, what cars were in front of him, what he could see around him, noticed her and asked what she was wearing whilst waving to her to get her attention. She had to jump over railings to meet him and he swiftly gave her her passport whilst wishing her well. He arrived 10 minutes earlier than anticipated and she made the flight!! This was effectively an emergency situation for us and Greyhound Cars acted in the most professional, responsive, polite, friendly and almost "chilled out" way - as in very confident of their being able to deliver. The cab office gentlemen even double-checked with me to make sure it was definitely Luton airport they needed to go to!
Greyhound cars are my local cab office, and I have used them several times over the years and the service has always been good. They have a very good system where they will send a cab immediately to your address based on your phone number. But it is equally easy to speak to someone in person. However I have never written a review before. I didn't take anyone's name, but but both the operator and the driver know who they are, and I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU! for everything that you did for us this morning. My daughter is now happily eating Pizza in Croatia, and I am now happily removing that extra grey hair that that early morning phone call sprung! Both me and my daughter truly appreciate your efforts and swift actions today, as time was of the essence. It was in the early hours of the morning, you could have been sleepy or took your time, but you chose not to. Those vital minutes made all the difference, and for that we are truly grateful. Thank you Greyhound Cars, we are two very happy customers!
