My Aunt is a retired hospice nurse. When we found out my dad was terminal, I called and asked her who she would recommend and who to stay away from. She said your first choice is Hospice Austin if you can get them. We were in shock still but called and someone came out and truly just spelled out next steps, here is what you can do etc. Then we got our team. Krista was just amazing. She was SO compassionate but matter of fact. First thing she did was tell us what equipment she thought we might need. They delivered it before dad was even released from hospital. Everything we asked for was delivered so quickly. She would advise us on what was happening. When the end was near, she checked on us several times a day. We had private home health 24 hrs towards the end to help. Hospice Austin worked so well with the coordination between them. When the end came (early hours of the morning) they had someone on site within 20 min of us calling them to say he had passed. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the entire team was with my entire family.
