UPDATE June 2016: Have had a string of problems with Vandergriff since I posted this review two years ago. Had a tire rotation back in December to prepare for a family trip in my Genesis and they left a wheel cap off of the customer wheels that I purchased the car with. So far I have not gotten the wheel cover back, while Hyundai has gotten me a wheel cover it is a deep green cover and not a black wheel cover to match the other three wheels. Additionally, I have now discovered that they did not return the wheel lock to the proper location in the glove compartment where they retrieved it from when they were doing the rotation. I could not imagine a worst post-purchase experience than this one.

I initially had a good experience here, or thought that I was having a good experience. I reached out to an internet sales person, Kirby, about a Genesis that I found on their website. I had been looking at Mercedes E Class, BMW 5 Series, and Audi A6, when my wife stumbled across the Genesis. Thought that it looked competitive from an under the hood perspective and gas mileage, including features. One of my biggest concerns was the hassle of dealing with scheduled maintenance on a car, which made the former options very attractive. I also did not want to wait around at a dealership while things like an oil change were happening. I went to look at the Genesis, liked the drive more than the Mercedes or BMW, and absolutely loved the sticker price. I started talking through my concerns with maintenance and was offered an add on service contract which was to cover scheduled maintenance. Here I am 15,000 miles in and find out that the first scheduled maintenance was covered by the dealership and the add-on warranty covered oil changes, not scheduled maintenance. Apparently the finance guy didn't understand what scheduled maintenance meant. The service guys knew exactly what I was talking about and even described this issue as a systemic problem at this dealership, that the finance guys are not honest when trying to sell these add-on warranties.
I went in to cancel the warranty three weeks ago, followed up with the add-on warranty company this week (MPP) and they had not received the cancellation form. Now on top of the extra trip I had to make to cancel the add-on I have to go through the headache of sending the form in myself. I would not suggest making a purchase from this dealership to anyone unless you are buying a brand new vehicle and are going to cut ties with them after. Just terrible end-to-end experience, which is sad, as the car seems to be of good quality. Needless to say I will be trading this car in sometime in the near future.
