If you're a yuppie, and you want to get drunk, read no further. This is your nirvana. But ... even if neither of those things apply, you may still like the Fainting Goat. The staff are friendly, some of the food is decent (though it's taken a HARD nose-dive in the last couple of years, and I can no longer recommend the once-perfect fish and chips, for example, replaced by a pretentious and unpalatable alternative).
In the afternoons (Saturdays excepted) the place is often mellow and quiet; a good place to eat and chat. At night, it's often loud and crowded, a good place to be a drunk yuppie shouting over the music to be heard. If the weather's nice, the rooftop patio is groovy. It's about as "Irish" as Father Guido Sarducci is "Italian," but pick your timing right, and the Goat can be a pretty cool place to be.
