Purchased a wonderful cat at this place. I paid extra money for them to place a chip in my cat, inquire about updating the chip info since it's been a few years and I wanted to make sure the chip info is current. Well, too bad. They "switched over their systems", apparently without bothering to backup any data, and told me they lost a bunch of data when they switched to the "new system." They had no record of me, my cat, the chip...nothing. The woman put it on me to have these records, not knowing I had a house fire and lost everything...."don't you have anything with a number on it?" and I replied "Don't YOU have anything with a number on it? That was the service I paid for." She just plainly stated that they lost data in the "switch to the new system." I told her I was a doctor, and when I switched to my new system, I thought ahead and, you know, backed up the data. When I asked her if that was done, she had no answer for that.
I'm not happy that I paid so much money for the chip and the surgery thinking one day I might lost the cat. I literally remember asking them if they kept the records so I didn't have to when I got the cat initially; I was told yes, that's the whole point of the system. And so to have them tell me nonchalantly that, oh, by the way, that info we said we'd have, well, we switched systems and we don't have that data. So sorry. They'd do well to not lose such important data.
Cat came back on it's own, and I've since learned that they just install chips...they're not really responsible for keeping records like doctors are. The actual purchase of the cat in 2002 went smooth as silk, and could not have asked for a better experience. It's just that 15 years later, when I called on them for the service I paid for, I was more or less just told "too bad. Hope you find your cat."
