Initially went for a flat-fee special for an Ayurvedic consult. They spent nearly 3 hours with me, and were very thorough. Great, caring, and listen well. As my symptoms worsened within a month after my visit, I decided to schedule another appointment, but when I called, it is impossible to make an appointment and know how much the visit will be. "It can range from $29-250", I was told. Even though I would be paying out of pocket, I will be mysteriously charged afterwards, based on whatever the doctors code for my reason of being there, and based on insurance billing codes. Again, I would be paying out of pocket, not dealing at all with insurance, and I was clear about this on the phone. For example, I could be charged more for the sniffles than a stomachache? If you are trying to bring non-western medicine to the area and circumvent the disaster of the US medical system, at least make it accessible and forthright, without catering to the insurance companies in the same way that every other industry does.
