Compared to other Zoo's like the Detroit Zoo, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, or even Dallas, it's mediocre at best. Parking was frustrating and seems free until you get to the ticket box and they charge you for it. Ticket prices are assinine when considering the utility value. I intentionally went here alone on a Saturday with a small event going on to see if this was worth bringing my family in the future.

The park was frustrating to navigate because of the way it's designed, let alone the amount of people that are forced to channel down the narrow paths with their millions of strollers (yes, that's normal but like I said- relative comparison to other zoo infrastructure).

The amount of animals this zoo has is minimal, of course, empathetically understanding the amount of money it takes to upkeep; but enough for an engaged (key word) child to learn about if they're willing to battle the other hundreds of children and their parents and subsequent strollers all trying to push their way into a 10' section of fence to see through an unkempt enclosure at an animal that most adults couldn't see. This is where the zoo lost its utility value relative to the charged price for me, and reminder, I was alone and didn't have to mess with all of my family stuff to make sure my daughter could see the rhinos or lemurs.

Additionally, the food was very bland. It is obvious that the zoo is hurting in some kind of way and needs more community support and better marketing. It wasn't the worst experience, I'm sure a lot of people with more patience enjoy it more but it overall wasn't worth the value to go.
