The Universidad del Valle, commonly known as Univalle, is a Colombian public university located in Valle del Cauca and considered the main institution of higher education in the southwest of the country. It has High Quality Institutional Accreditation from the Ministry of Education, which was granted for the first time in 2005 and renewed in 2014 for ten years, the maximum time granted to higher education institutions in Colombia, a distinction that it shares only with the National University and the University of Antioquia. Different rankings classify it as the largest research center in southwestern Colombia and one of the most important in the country.
