I am giving RockAuto 4 stars... so far! This review may be a little premature though, as I just finished placing my 1st order and have yet to recieve my shipment. So, my 4 stars is me giving them the benefit of the doubt that my order will be correct, complete and timely.
The reason I marked them down 1 star at this point is for several experiences with customer service so far. First of all, even their automated voice prompts want to keep you from actually speaking to a human being and rather lead you to recorded directions. Tip: 1st presss 0 for English, then 3, then 4 if you need a rep.
The problem I had with customer service, both times I called, was they seem bothered by your call. They want to simply repeat what the recorded messages tell you, which is all answers can be found on their site. Granted, their site is fairly user friendly if you are a little computer savvy. Still, we all know, sometimes it just helps to have a knowledgeable rep to help with something now and then and their reps seem best at parroting the initial audio greetings.
Now, the reason I am giving them the four stars right now is based mainly on their prices. Local auto parts stores could not even come close to Rock's prices even after shipping costs. I also thought their shipping costs were very fair. I would have to assume they are using the USPS for their ground shipping option and not marking up the cost at all.
Lastly, they also get a 4 stars from me due to their site. It seemed a little hard to read at first with smaller print and tight word grouping but the info is all there, mostly. I do wish the "info" button to gain details was more specific rather than so general. Anyway, basically so far / mostly so good!
