While the service at Bikes not Bombs may seem more laid back than some of the other local bike shops, the staff is deeply knowledgeable, not inclined to talk down to customers, and the selection of new and refurbished bikes is one of the best in the area. The shop also has a good selection of accessories, and the organization works proactively to educate and fascinate bike usage in the Boston area (with workshops on maintaining your own bike and tables promoting bike usage at local events, and a mission to get bikes to people who can't afford other transportation to people worldwide).
