Extremely crowded with tourists especially at the row of torii gates. Tons of people waiting to take a photo there. Try going up a little bit further to get your photos taken as there will be fewer people the further you go. I climbed all the way to the mountain peak and down. It was tiring though but worth it! At about halfway the mountain climb, you will find a place to sit and enjoy the view and sunset if you reach there around 6pm.
