Super disappointed in Dracut library. My son was in the kids section of the library with TWO of his therapist. One from Anne Sullivan for developmental and the other from Building Blocks. First the librarian comes up and doesn t want My son using a certain train on any of the tables besides the specific table for the trains. Which is fine (no he wasn t playing rough) so an hour goes by we re getting wrapped up with his therapist and librarian comes BACK up to us and says we need to keep it down it s a library and she shouldn t be hearing our conversation. Let s talk about the fact for one my son was around TWO therapist who specialize in behavioral acts for kids especially kids with autism so they know the appropriate and not appropriate way for a child to act in a setting of that manner. Let s also talk about the fact that she was standing right behind us when she could hear our personal conversation that pertained to my son joining an day group to help him start to understand the structure of a class setting. Needless to say I will NEVER be coming back to this library even if it s right down the street from my home. Super unprofessional and clearly she lacks the patience of being in the CHILDREN S section of the library. I m also the first to admit mine or my sons mess ups but clearly this lady just had it out for us from the beginning. It s sickening they have someone like that working in the children s section of a library.
Also this place claims to supports kids with autism clearly that s not the case.
