Tom Zabek Review of Ottawa GoodTime Center
!!TOTALLY DISHONEST!!
!!TOTALLY DISHONEST!!
So I had my old snowblower serviced at Goodtime. They came up with a list of parts that were required for repair, including tune-up, gas cap, pull rope, spark plug, etc totaling $200. Apparently the technician spent 45 minutes diagnosing the problem. Because it s an old snowblower I told them no worth fixing it for that much money. Once I got the machine back it, friend of mine who is a mechanic came over and looked at it, removed carb housing (2 screws)- as soon as he did it the problem was plainly obvious- the primer fuel line became detached from the carb. As soon as he reattached it, snowblower started and ran like new. Bottom line- the tech when he looked at it NEVER took the carb housing off because the fuel line WAS NOT on the list of stuff to be done. When confronted the service manager, he gave me the story how the mechanic kept himself busy for 45 minutes looking at the snowblower preparing the estimate (NONE of the parts they listed were required for repair). For the pleasure of preparing BS estimate they charged me $80!!!
The bright part of the story is the fact that they hosed me on only $80 instead of $200.
