The small remnant of the camp itself was closed, but I had come to run up Currahee itself ("three miles up, three miles down"). That was a soul touching experience in its own. A beautiful road through a beautiful forest. The only downside was the graffiti near the top, and that the purpose of the hill now is as a placement for cell towers, but there are views at the top that will momentarily allow you to ignore the modern world and see there Georgian countryside possible as the men of Easy Company saw it.
