It obvious with the rating that customer service DOES NOT come first with Planet Fitness Corporate office . The reason for the high rating is because it is not the fault of my home store To cancel a membership you MUST send a certified letter (additional expense) or go into the franchise you signed up with. You can not provide a scanned copy of your ID and signed notice for our protection! Lol.
This is just another ploy to hold you captive and give them one more chance to stop you from canceling or make it so inconvenient that you never do. With Covid I really think they should be flexible by helping the consumer not hold them hostage to driving over a half and hour to cancel something that should be done and could be done via email. I have cancel contracts that were thousands of dollars with a simple email fom my account registered with them.
Planet Fitness should be ashamed of their petty ways. Yet another example of a company looking to take advantage of the consumer during these unprecedented times
