Brouwerij Maximus is brewery located in Utrecht. They have a lot of choices of beers and they are all brewed by themselves. The kettles are visible throughout the bar which gave a wonderful touch to the ambiance of the brewery.

My girlfriend found this place on the internet and suggested that we would have a meal and some beers there. She called them and made a reservation for us.

When we entered the restaurant we were a bit confused of were we had to go to.There was no host(ess) so we waited a few minutes at the entrance. When nobody came to us we walked to the bar and told them we had a reservation. We were guided to our table and we took place at a nice table close to the bar. We directly received the menu and ordered a special beer.

After some browsing through the menu we decided to go for a starter and a main. As a starter we ordered bread with 3 different kind of dips. The dips were really flavourish but unfortunately no one told us the name of the dips so we had no idea what is was. As a main my girlfriend ordered a hamburger and I ordered duck. When I told the waiter I wanted the duck he told me that he was very sorry but that all the duck was sold out that evening. So I went for a hamburger as well. Unfortunately it took quite long for the food to arrive. When it finally did, it was a tasty hamburger with some potatoes and veggies on the side.
We ordered some more beer and even ordered a few on recommendation of the waiter (who was very nice). We really loved all the beers.

The beers they brew here are very tasteful and unique. They have so many beers, that it is to much to write them all down. The vibe in the bar and kindness of the staff is definitely a plus. But sometimes they did lack a little bit of professionality. We had no cutlary when we got are main course. When my girlfriend asked for a fork they gave her one instead of two (I still didn't had one). It's not the biggest deal and I'm not here to bash on them but these are just tips. The overall experience was great and that's why I give 4/5.
