I have just been in the Royal Marsden for 5 days for major surgery for cancer. I am very thankful to my consultant Prof M Thomas for ensuring I had my surgery there. Throughout diagnosis, surgery and post surgery I cannot fault any part of my care. Consultants/doctors kept me fully informed of what to expect and I felt as comfortable as possible given the situation. At no time was I given reason to doubt I was in the best and most capable hands. The nursing staff were extremely professional, efficient and empathic. The hospital was immaculately clean. Catering was really good although no doubt I was spoiled a bit having a private room though employment insurance. I cannot thank everyone I came across enough for the excellent care I received. Post op and Critical care were brilliant. Special thanks to Prof Thomas and colleagues, Eleanor post op, Gill Critical Care, ward - Aileen, Janet, Jonthan, Cynthia and Leana (catering) and of course the cleaners. Sorry dont recall all names was a bit woozy.
