We did a quick staycation over the weekend. For the price of the resort I expected more.
Pros: great pools, and water slides, and fun activities like bacon smores you can make at night. The buffet night at the Cibilo Canyon restaurant was such a great deal with amazing food. The Giant TV in our room was awesome! Parking is free (super limited spaces though). The customer service is good if you can find some one to help you.
Cons: NO dr. Pepper how do you have a top resort in Texas and not serve Dr. pepper.
They were understaffed for the weekend. We would have spent more money if we could just find someone to order from around the pool area. The grill by the pools is so confusing. No one knew where to stand to order or pay. It was an awful mess we just left and didn't order anything. Every where you turn everything cost more money. They give you a voucher for a free drink when you check in, sadly the voucher won't cover a virgin strawberry daiquiri You have to pay $5 more for that. But they'll give you any wine or alcohol you want. For some reason using a blender costs more. And I was saving them money with no alcohol in it.
There's some huge signage issues in this place. Like where do you get the tubes. There's no signs you just have to walk around until you see someone not using one.
It would be nice if more workers monitored the seating areas around the pool. Looking for a place to sit at the pool was crazy. People save there spots with their towels. But so many people walk away from their seats leaving their towels and never return so it looks like it's being saved but it's not. I think workers could easily keep an eye on a section and make sure they clear the chairs not being used.
The adult only pool is a great idea except it tore up my husbands feet. (I sat most of the time while in it) his feet were torn up. Layers of skin were ripped up and hanging off.
The website says there are things offered and then they're not. We went to the high velocity restaurant and online they had a BBQ burger on the menu. Went down to the restaurant and it's not on the menu. They need to make sure those are consistent. Or give us a menu in the room. We just wanted to see what they had before deciding which restaurant to go to.
