So we finally wandered up to Fremont Street last time in Vegas and I was incredibly surprised at how nice The Golden Nugget appeared while we ate lunch and gambled there that afternoon. I did NOT stay here or see the rooms so don't take my opinion of that aspect but what I did see impressed the heck out my wife and I and we both agreed that given the disparity in prices between the GN and the mega resorts on the strip that we would love to stay at the GN next time we go. It's clearly been remodeled fairly recently in the lobby and restaurateur areas and was very modern. The place was jumping busy for a fall Sunday afternoon, too. We will most likely make this the next place we try in Vegas!
