I came to West Suburban on last week of Oct.9th because my brother-in-law was brought in through the emergency room. I got there and could tell that my brother-in-law was already deceased they had him hooked up to a ventilator, heart monitor and taking blood pressure. Now the thing is that why I'm upset with West Suburban is that my brother-in-law came there after being resuscitated in the ambulance because he had no heart rate when he was found and nobody knows how long he was gone. So my sister said he was going for CAT Scans and everything and no one can say what kind of brain function he has or how long he was down. It's been a week and he still hasn't woke up yet but instead they put a Trach in him and a Peg tube for no reasons the man has no brain activity and you mean to tell me that you guys cant sit my sister down and tell her that her husband is not responding even trying to wean him off the vent because he's not breathing on his own. This makes me sick to the damn core that you guys will keep someone on life support with no insurance but a medical card and keep milking the system and for his wife to pay any bills that medicaid wont pay. I'm in the Healthcare industry for over 20+ years of experience. My thing is the nurses in ICU are great but someone has to take accountability of what's going on. I visited on this past Saturday and my family was not presented well to us to come in and find the patient with a dirty gown and towel that had been there over night just makes me cringe when I see something like that. So I cleaned his face and mouth changed the towels on him and put towels on his hands to keep them straighten out. And now you guys are sending him to RML where his health will continue to decline because all organs will eventually shut down. My sister is very stubborn but she needs to know that her husband will never be the same again. Someone please explain that to her we have tried and her children have tried talking to her but she insist that he's gonna get better, but he wont because you guys failed to let her know that her husband is no longer with us. I am disgusted and also heartbroken over this whole situation that has been done to him. So in the future please be upfront with families about the well being of their loved ones.
