Please see the updated information at the end of this review. I have taken my car back twice and I'm hopeful for a positive resolution. I, Angela Williams, received a recall notice from Honda for airbag propellant replacement on my 2011 Honda Insight. Being new to Albany, I was amazed that Honda sent me the notice to my new address. I had an excellent relationship with my previous Honda dealer/service having purchased 4 Hondas, 3 from that dealer and all of my car servicing over the past 18 years. My search for Honda service in Albany lead me to this location. My warranty work was completed in a timely manner and everyone was friendly. I drove straight to Lowe's and when I came out, my car wouldn't start. I waited 10 minutes, still my car did not start. Finally after 25 minutes, my car started. I thought, that's odd, I've never had this happen before. This keeps happening and now my car is unreliable and I have to spend more money to diagnose the issue and have it fixed. I don't trust taking my car back to this location after this experience. I stopped buying Fords because it seemed that whenever my car was serviced, another costly repair issue would suddenly occur after picking up my car. I'm sticking with my car and I will definitely find a different location for service. I don't think this was a coincidence. I'm very disappointed. Has anyone else had an experience like this at this service department? I would like to stay local, but I've lost trust, especially since the service personnel specifically brought up starter issues which I've never had with my car.
Update: The service manager called me the day after I wrote this review. After thinking over the offer to inspect my car, I agreed to the offer. They kept my car all day and called me to pick it up because they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. The service manager told me to bring it back in if I continued to have trouble starting the car.
Update 2: I started recording my difficulty starting the car and I took it back to Albany Honda after I couldn't get my car started for over an hour on 3/29/2019. I showed video of the car not starting to the service manager and told him how an unreliable car is next to worthless and asked them to please find out why the car won't start consistently. I am awaiting the outcome. To the owner who reads these reviews. Please call me. I'm a retired RN and a former U.S. Marine and I am hopeful for a positive outcome.
