In February 2012, I thought I had kidney stones due to location of severe pain. I had travel insurance, so of course the sky is the limit for them wanting to do all the tests possible. Before any major test i.e. cat scan, I ensured they obtained clearance from the insurance company prior to preforming same.
The cat scan written report, according to my physician in British Columbia, Canada, was just a joke in the manner it was written and called whomever prepared/performed it a "CROOK".
I was 4 1/2 hours in the emergency area, sitting around with the last 45 minutes in a shared room. Time of day was around 11:00 AM
The total billing to my Insurance Company in Canada was in excess of $9,400.00, YES NINE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS.
At the end they couldn't tell me what was the matter with me and prescribed me anti anxiety medication. For what I don't know and did not fill the prescription.
UNLESS YOU HAVE A BAG OF MONEY TO THROW AWAY, DON'T GO HERE. DEFINITELY DON'T GO HERE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TRAVEL INSURANCE.
