Ericka Faircloth Review of Emerald Pointe Water Park
It was my first time at the park, and had no idea ...
It was my first time at the park, and had no idea the order of things. When I rented a locker, it printed a receipt, and other than that, there was no way to remember which one was yours. They do not ask for a name or anything, just pay $10 and get a printout. After hours in the park, and not being able to take anything on rides, we realized it was closing time and went to the lockers to grab my car keys, phones, cards and passport. We had the numbers mixed up and tried for several minutes trying to determine which was ours. We went looking for help only to find someone named Kendra, who had the worst attitude on the planet. I did my fair share of retail and all before my career, so I understand if you're having a bad day, but she was the worst employee I have ran across in my life. She tried to open one locker, and it was empty, then we tried another, also empty. She said "i'll be right back" and walked away for over 20 minutes. The park was closed and we were there in swimsuits with no money, no keys and no ID. We go and find someone else who can help, he says we have to wait for the park to clear before they can check the lockers. I told him it was unacceptable. It makes no sense they wanted me to write on the lockout form all my belonging in the locker, and mind you my passport is in there, YOU CAN LOOK AT IT and see it's me if it's our locker. We are standing to the side and not going through the belongings of anyone, so I don't know why they thought something could go missing? After over an hour, they finally come to check the lockers. I said I thought it was on the row on the far right, they started checking all the lockers on the far left and then worked to the right! We had already been waiting for help for over an hour and were so upset, this made me more angry! A police officer comes and helps check and we finally find the locker, on the row I said it was on a few minutes earlier. I told them I was upset they didn't check on the right first, and the officer raised his voice at me and said "you remember your phone number don't you?" Of course I do, I've had it for over 2 years, what a dumb statement! Of the other things wrong with the park, one is my sister hit her head hard inside one of the rides and no one tried to help as we came out and she was holding her head and had me concerned something was very wrong. At the gate, I produced my ID and card I bought our tickets with online, and they told me they could not look me up, that I had to have the confirmation number. If that's the case, then why did I bother bringing in ID or the card I paid with as it says to online? The staff at the gate was very nice and helpful, but the officer and Kendra were the worst people I have come across in quite some time. I'm glad we decided to just try out the park before we bought season tickets. We came from out of town as well. Just go to Carowinds, we go there all the time and they are always great.
