If you're a U.S. citizen with an appointment go to the door (not the window) to get buzzed in..

You aren't allowed to bring and large bags or purses. Cellphones must be turned off and turned over to security... You can pick up your cellphone once you leave...

Strongly recommend just reviewing the Embassy websites prior to your visit... In other words be prepared...
