It is one of the most prestigious theaters in the world. It has hosted the most important artists of opera and classical music for almost two and a half centuries. It was inaugurated in 1778 with a work by Salieri. It took its name from the Church of Santa Maria della Scala demolished to make room for it. Unfortunately it is not within the reach of ALL.
