For those of you that do not know, the RMH as do many other hospitals in and around London, will provide transport for outpaitients who have appoinments at the hospital but face certain issues on how to get to this appointment, though this service is subject to meeting the hospitals requirements. Yesterday my client and I arrived for his 16.30pm afternoon appointment at the RMH. Due to his vulnerability and because he has visual impairments and travels about in a wheelchair he requires that extra support of the hospitals transport. Once finished,an hour later(17.30pm),we went down to inform transport that we were now ready to return to his home. The lady at the desk informed that due to the lateness in time most of the drivers had left-but would do her best to try to get us transport-this coud be a 90 minute wait.Begrudgingly I accepted, cos to be honest we had no alternative. My client lives 2 hours away and a cab would be very expensive.Anyway after a very long wait (18.50pm)she finally informed us that a driver was indeed turning back from Vauxhall London to do the job! The transport lady herself had actually finished at 18pm but declined to go home until everyone waiting that required transport received as such.(she too was accomodating and polite)When the driver arrived he was polite, helpful, chatty and apologetic! He got us back to my clients home by 20.10pm and really was one of the nicest guys you could meet.Again when at our destination,he again was very supportive towards my client and with the same tactile support offered earlier he returned that same type of care.I just want to say to the RMH you have two hardworking and loyal staff team in transport and they are Lilly & Tony. Thank you so much for going above and beyond our usual job post to help and support us last night and for really being one of those people you can truly rely on,in a moment of crisis-your a team player.Thank you LILLY & TONY,you're doing a great job and we salute you
