Accountability in a young athlete is something we as coaches try to instill our athletes. We strive to teach them to not only be the best athlete they can be, but the best person they can be. I am a coach from a different gym who runs the competitive program and have known Coach Sarah, the optional coach, both on a personal and professional level for the better part of 10 years. To say she is someone who gives her all to her athletes, who loses sleep over their well being and success, who sometimes sets her own family aside for her athletes and who strives to bring out the best in them is an understatement. Coach Sarah was voted in by Oregon coaches and holds a spot on the USAG Oregon committee. She is also asked yearly to coach kids at various camps around the region. I recently read a online review on Coach Sarah that made me sick to my stomach. Shame on that person for lacking the accountability of herself to be successful in life. I am glad this person chose to go to a different gym, again. Maybe the next coach she heads to has created a magical potion that can fulfill athletes dreams without the work put in. I am glad Coach Sarah no longer has to endure the entitlement attitude of this athlete. I feel bad for the next coach that has to endure it, or future employer. I stand behind Metro, coach Sarah and their owner 100% and any athlete coached by Sarah is a lucky one who is better off in life because they were coached by her. Highly recommended gym!
