Tried to use discount tickets online but it's not ...

Tried to use discount tickets online but it's not possible. We called the theater and they told use to buy the tickets at full price and we would get a refund when we got to theater. At the ticket booth they said it was not possible to get a refund, the discount tickets can only be used in person. Lost about $20.
