People either write reviews if the service is excellent or horrible. So I wanted to give an honest review for my experience today. After buying a Oyama e-bike I started having power issues a few months into ownership, shortly after, I got into a bike accident which caused damage to the grip and the left pedal, so I dropped it off at NYCeWheels. I dropped the bike off middle of August. Got a call a few weeks later that bike was repaired. I asked if power system, pedal and grip were all fixed. He said no. Just power system. What left a bad taste in my mouth was him replying with well they are still on the bike and seem to be functioning . That s not how you respond to a customer wishing for those to be repaired. A dent in a car door doesn t stop the door from working, but people have dents removed all the time, and I wanted my bike back in not only working order, but looking back to like new, how it was before. So the guy on the phone said he would order the parts and call me back. Another 2 weeks go by. I call to check up. I was greeted by a man I believe was named Steve, he told me the bike was repaired and ready for pickup. I asked specifically if the power system, grip and pedal were fixed. He said yes. I wanted to be 100% sure so I said so all three parts requested have been fixed he reassured me and said I could pick it up. Today I took a long train ride to the city to pick up my bike. He wheels the bike out and it looks great...except the original damaged pedal and grip were still there. Untouched. Just like day one. I was furious. At this point it was over a month after I gave them the bike and it seemed like a very cut and dry repair. I was upset that I had to call several times and basically ask for the work to be done, work I wanted done since the first day. Now here I am a month later and it still wasn t fixed. I was handed over to Adam. Adam was very empathetic to my concerns and he took the bike back in for an hour to have both of my issues resolved. I have worked customer service for years. I understand mistakes and accidents do happen. What makes GOOD customer service stand out from the rest is how a business handles a mistake. NYCeWheels was swift in remedying my issue and I left a happy customer. I do plan on going back to have any future repairs or purchases here because they went above and beyond today to fix their mistake. I greatly respect that. Which is why even after this repair mixup, they still get a 5 star review in my book.
