Caseworkers/staff do not care about you. Once you ...

Caseworkers/staff do not care about you. Once you leave they never so much as bother to check up on you. While you re there, they may meet with you once and then never again. Offer very little in terms of resources/support and will do the bare minimum. Their transitional living program is non-existent. Stay a few days but do not expect any help as it s nothing more than a temporary shelter. When you re out you re on your own. Some parents seem to think this place is to babysit their kids or as a punishment will drop them off for a week. A friend of mine who went here never even knew she had a caseworker as she never came to meet her. She was dealing with much emotional grief (openly crying) and no one had tried to comfort her. There were no beds so they gave her a deflated air mattress in a bright room and she ended up sleeping on top of a closet rack. (There were empty beds in the boys room but the staff did not bother to move the mattresses for her.) They did not even bother to give her the only decent air mattress a staff member had which shows you their lack of sympathy. Gave it an extra star for the food and the care items they give you but that s it. Would never come back here again. If you re OK with all this then this is the excellent place for you.
